Foundations for Change: Businesses, Governments and NGOs Scaling Impact Together

Thursday, November 18, 2010 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Carnegie New Leaders Event, by Invitation Only

Description

In today's globalized economy, organizations of all types are collaborating to achieve shared objectives. Few corporations can succeed in new markets without incorporating a deep understanding of local and regional challenges—social, environmental or cultural—into their strategy. Few not-for-profits have the infrastructure to scale the impact of solutions and expertise they have developed. And governments are often in need of investment, innovation and knowledge that is often only available in the business and not-for-profit space.

Today, it is a basic principle for businesses, NGOs, and governments to expand their impact by collaborating. Unfortunately, the leadership skills needed to successfully navigate between all three types of organizations are rarely developed and even more rarely defined.

Caleb McClennen, David Salpeter and Carnegie New Leader Zarines Negron will facilitate an interactive discussion among Carnegie New Leaders to identify and address these skills gaps. Please come prepared to discuss what you see as critical elements of successfully engaging between these distinct types of organizations and the strategies that will enable our future leaders to seamlessly interact with any type of organization.
