Kei Hiruta

Kei Hiruta is a Global Ethics Fellow and Carnegie-Uehiro Fellow at Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs and a research associate in the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics at Oxford University. His research interests are in the areas of ethics, political theory, political ideologies, and twentieth-century political thought.

He was previously a visiting scholar in the Center for the Study of Human Rights at Columbia University and a research associate in the Faculty of Letters at the University of Tokyo.

He holds a B.A. from Keio University, an M.A. from Essex University, and a D.Phil and an M.Sc. from Oxford University, where he has written a thesis on concepts of pluralism in mid-twentieth-century political thought.
